bath care and maintenance

Boutique’s baths are made using high quality acrylic for the surface of the baths. This lustrous and gloss surface add to the appeal of this product. The acrylic surface is tough and resists most household chemicals. Minor surface defects are easily removed and the surface can be polished using simple techniques throughout the product’s life.

  1. When receiving a Boutique bath, the unit will be covered with protective plastic for transport purposes. Remove all the plastic covering, checking carefully for any damages. Boutique will not accept any claims for damage or inaccuracies 48 hours after receipt of goods or after installation.
  2. Before commencing the installation, ensure the bath is completely protected – the plastic wrapping is not sufficient. Leave protection in place until the bathroom is complete. Scratches and cracks incurred during installation are not covered by the warranty.
Drilling and repairs
Drilling

When drilling for taps, use a fine-toothed hole saw at less than 1000 rpm.

Repairs

Scratches or cigarette burns can be removed with 1500 grit water paper and repolished with the polishing cream. Alternatively, a car rubbing compound may be used. Fine scratches may be removed with the cutting compound. Always polish in a circular movement using a clean damp cloth. Polish with a dry cloth when finished.

Cleaning Your Bath
  1. To preserve the polished surface, clean with a soft cloth and warm soapy water to wash away any body oils or soap residue.
  2. As a weekly cleaner we recommend any suitable sanitaryware liquid cleaner. Do not use powders, pastes, crème cleaners, thinners, window cleaning sprays or dry cleaning fluids, etc.
  3. Stubborn marks or fine scratches may be polished out with a car burnishing compound.
  4. When coloured essential oils are used, first test that the colour won’t stain your bath. If it does, the burnishing compound will remove it.
